In either case, the cargo is sampled and these sample are sent to the laboratory where a series of bench blends are prepared and tested to ascertain the appropriate level of additive dosage for the desired result. This ensures minimisation of overdosing.

The additives are then dispersed directly into the cargo, in accordance with the method advised by the chemical manufacturers. After completion of additives dispersal, the cargo is sampled again and re-tested to check whether the desired result has been achieved.
